The idea behind TeacherTech was to transform teaching and learning by connecting area teachers to eight-week, summer externships with local employers. The externships challenged teachers to enhance their skills and inspire students through real-world experience while employers were able to play a critical role in developing well-rounded, progressive teachers who would inspire the future workforce through practical application of business and entrepreneurship with an emphasis in math, engineering, technology and science (METS).
